Jessen (Pty) Ltd has completed the installation of two Lehner liftTechnik platform stairlifts, imported from Austria, for the newly renovated Auditorium for UJ (University of Johannesburg).
The first lift provides access into the building from outside and the second lift – mounted on the side of the auditorium – provides stage or podium access.
Due to the student unrest last year, the graduation ceremonies were postponed and we are pleased to report that a number of students with disabilities used the lifts to reach the stage and receive their degrees.
This is what we call “accessibility for all!”
